| Timberline Sentinels
This is an original pattern design based my wolf photographs. The quilt measures approximately 55" tall by 60" wide. My hand dyed and hand painted fabrics were used for the background. The technique is raw edge applique. The eyes of the wolves are constructed of black ultrasuede and handpainted fabrics. The remaining fabrics are commercial fabrics. This quilt was constructed in 2003.

| Eye of the Tiger
This was a challenge quilt for our Quilt Show in 2005. The challenge was to create a quilt based on an interpretation of a favorite song. This is a wholecloth quilt, handpainted using oil paint sticks and fabric paints, then heavily free motion machine quilted. Inserted into the corner of the quilt is a device that contains a recording of a tiger growling and snarling. It is 36" square.

David and His Cat, Sister
| David and his cat, Sister, is approximately 60" square. It is a whole cloth quilt hand painted using fabric paints and inks. It is based on a fuzzy black and white photograph that my grandmother took of her son, my Uncle David, when he was three years old, in approximately 1951. My grandmother grew sunflowers, but they were not in the original picture. Those came from photographs I took of my dad's sunflowers. This piece is heavily free motion machine quilted. And his cat was really named Sister!
Dad and the One That Didn't Get Away!
| Size: 50" square. Background are commercial fabrics. Mountain is handpainted. The trout started out as a piece of dark gray batik. I handpainted to appear lifelike. I used fabric inks and paints, painting each element of the design separately, then needleturn appliqued the pieces together (for instance, his longjohn cuff peeking out from his sleeve was painted separately, then appliqued in place). The closeup shows the fish and his hand and sleeve. It is heavily free motion machine quilted. Background: I took this picture of my dad in the back yard of his home when he returned from a fishing trip in 1982. I believe it is the last time he went fishing. He loved to fish.
